A woman professionalises the call center industry in Romania
Madalina Vilau is presented with the CCC Special Award during the Call Center Convention 2009
Moving moments during the presentation of the CCC Special Award at the Call Center Convention 2009: for the fourth time, the concluding programme highlight saw the recognition of an outstanding personality for her commitment to the call center industry. This year, Madalina Vilau was selected, the initiator of the first Customer Care Conference & Expo in Bucharest and founder and publisher of the Romanian industry magazine “Call Center Magazine”, founder of the quality awards for the call center industry in Romania and training and further training programmes for call center staff.
“Madalina is a person who really got things moving for the industry, its image and its staff”, Thomas Kloibhofer, CEO of Competence Call Center AG, emphasised in his honorific speech as he talked about the example set by Madalina far beyond the borders of her home country. Currently, the committed networker is working on establishing an industry association in Romania.
“Some people live this industry, some people love this industry. Both are true for our award winner”, said Thomas Kloibhofer. Although the award winner, who has done truly pioneering work, does not like to be the center of attention, Madalina Vilau accepted the award amidst thundering applause. She was touched and aimed her gratitude to her staff.
The strong woman behind the image, the professionalisation and the continued development of the call center industry in the biggest country in south eastern Europe, also has practical industry experience. In 2004, she set up two Green Field Call Centers for Vodafone Romania before she decided to lend her support to the entire industry. “I am very touched and surprised. Thank you for this award, a dream that could only have come true with the help of my excellent and committed team”, were Madalina Vilau’s words of thanks.
