Charity Calendar – December 10, 2020

Our colleagues from CCC Biel have shown once more that they have a big heart for animals – just like last year, they decided to support “Tierschutzverein Biel / Bienne – Zealand – Jura bernois” (the animal welfare association). With 64% of all votes, it was a clear favourite and will receive the donation of 2,000 CHF from CCC within this year’s Charity Calendar.

This animal welfare association has been committed to animals for more than 80 years. The protection of animals is becoming more and more urgent and interventions by the animal inspectors are unfortunately more frequent than ever. The list of shortcomings is long: dogs on a chain, sheep without water, abandoned and injured cats or half-starved kittens. In all of these cases, quick and uncomplicated action is required. That is why organizations like this one are needed, to stand for the rights of animals.

The association also runs the animal shelter Rosel – a safe haven for all tortured, abandoned, found and superfluous animals. And of course, they are looking for great new homes for all of their protégés, where they can enjoy love, care and respect.

But current pandemic situation affected the association significantly – they lost most of their income from the animal placement and also the pet hotel they run. But the expenses do not vanish, animals still need food, veterinarian help, etc. That’s why the help is needed more than ever.
